The AKM is an assault rifle in Insurgency: Sandstorm.
AKM in English stands for "Kalashnikov's Automatic Rifle Modernized". It is a fully stamped version of the original AK-47, reducing its weight and production cost significantly. It is currently the most widely used rifle in the world with over 70 million currently in circulation and easily one of the most recognisable. The majority of "AK47s" in circulation are actually AKMs given that the AKM manufacturing process was considerably simpler than that of the AK-47.
